Daylesford Farm in Kingham has a special lambing day 7 April. Visitors can see the lambing barns where the ewes are billeted from the later stages of pregnancy until after the lambs are born and the weather turns a little warmer. This makes checking the ewes’ health and the birthing process easier to monitor and the lambs can enjoy a cosy environment in which to bond with their mothers.
There will also be the opportunity to join a lambing tour on a tractor and trailer with with lots of information about the flock.
Richard Smith, the Senior Farm Manager and his team of shepherds at Daylesford will explain all about the barns and the lambing process.
The tours must be booked beforehand and are as follows:
- Tour times, 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm
- Tickets will be issued from the front of the Farm shop one hour before each tour
- Places are limited to 60 people per tour. Little ones can sit on parents’ laps
- Tractor trailer tours will leave promptly on their tour times
